Colorado | Balloon Classic
A few weekends ago, Colorado Springs had their Balloon Classic and I was determined to be there for the send off on Saturday morning. Yes, it meant heading out the door before six am, but I was determined. Also, I had factored in some time to stop for donuts and chocolate milk. Which is every Saturday’s dream. But even without donuts and chocolate milk, I would of loved that Saturday morning…because it was just that cool!
Seeing Ajax just light up seeing the balloons just made the whole morning! We had a great time, donuts, chocolate milk, balloons and all.
In a few weeks I’ll get to scratch another event off my bucket list when we hit the Albuquerque International Balloon Festival. It’s been a “must to-do” for me for a while, so seeing these balloons made me that much more excited for our trip! Also, you’ll find me swimming in sopipllas that weekend.
Have you ever been to a balloon festival?? Or the Albuquerque one?? Any tips?

Hey Shawna! We totally took a bus into the festival! We got to the parking lot (we used Hoffmantown stop) around 6ish and ended up at the grounds around 730. We missed the first assent, but still got to see a ton of balloons!!
Getting back in the bus was a different story. We started around 9am - after all the balloons were up - back to the where our bus stop was- and it took us about 2 hours to get into the bus (which was super tough with a little one). It was mass chaos until we got into the roped area for the busses. So I'd would suggest getting in line for the busses sooner, or planning on being on the grounds until noonish before getting back on the bus! That was the only bad thing about the bus stop.
But traffic also looked horrific...
Still. It's stunning.
Tag me if you post a picture! I'd love to see it!!!

I don't remember how I found your blog (probably via friend of a friend on FB) but we're going to the ABQ balloon festival the second weekend! I'm told that if you're near a shuttle drop point that can make a huge difference in the stress level of getting there :) Pricey (12 each) but I think it'll be worth it! Hope you have fun!
