One of the easiest ways to get dressed, especially when you just don’t know what to wear, is just to pick a color and wear that. Monochromatic outfits for the win! Clearly I do it all the time.
This time around, I grabbed this navy sweater from J.Crew and paired it with my Hudson skinnies. But what I love most about picking navy blue as my color, is that it goes with most blue jeans baby. It really makes the easiest outfit, and I love the pulled together look it gives. I didn’t add any accessories, but if I was, I would pair something like this with the outfit. Or a necklace like this.
But I’m going to share a little secret… my mules are actually black. Now I happen to love navy and black together, and I don’t have a pair of navy shoes, yet, but since I used black it still kept with my monochromatic look, even though my mules aren’t really navy.
You could easily replicate this outfit in black – black jeans (or black leggings!) and a black sweater – or in all white or all green. I think aside from the navy sweater, blue jean combo, the green on green might be a favorite!

When I don’t exactly know what to wear, I almost always reach for a monochromatic outfit. This navy version is up there as a constant favorite. The real question is, do I look for navy mules to make this outfit a real one color?!
