7 Books for the Adventurer

With Christmas right around the corner, I’ve selected seven books that would make the perfect gift for the adventurer in your life. No judgement if you purchase a book or two for yourself too…

Nothing goes better in a stocking than a good book, EVEN if you send them an electronic version – which is my preferred method of books (with the exception of coffee table style books). When gifting an ebook, usually the recipient gets an email saying that they’ve received a book. But, in order to also give them something they can unwrap or so you can still put the book in their Christmas stocking, I would make something like this and include a tiny picture of the book.

LUNCH IN PARIS + PICNIC IN PROVENCE  | One of my favorite trips that I’ve taken was the second time I went to Paris. I traveled via train, which might possibly be the best way to travel anywhere, and I was in the middle of reading Lunch in Paris; it was literal perfection. The book plus the travel was an experience that stayed with me. So I was a little worried that it was just because I could literally see the Eiffel Tower as I was reading Bard’s words, that reading her second book, Picnic in Provence, it wouldn’t be the same experience. But it was! And anyone in your life who loves travel and cooking, this is for them.

THE MAGIC OF MOTHERHOOD – The mama in your life will thank you for the reminder that there are seasons to motherhood, and that the adventure of being a parent is so worth it!

BORN TO RUN – (This suggestion come from my husband.) Christopher McDougall gets you excited about being outdoors, traveling and running! This cross country and cross continent adventure takes you from Leadville, Colorado to Mexico’s Copper Canyon and more, while processing with you about a healthy lifestyle and living on the edge of adventure. Someone in your family would totally love this read!

THE BUCKET LIST : 1000 ADVENTURES BIG & SMALL – If you want to add a bit of adventure to someone’s coffee table, get this book. Not only will it inspire adventures of their own, but looking through the pictures and suggestions is an experience itself.

DELANCY – A good writer + pizza; that should sell this book to just about everyone. But also, this book will make you want to stop in Seattle on your PNW road trip.

THE MOUNTAINS BETWEEN US – This is the only fiction book, but it’s worth the read! Charles Martin tells a great story that involves running, mountains, plane crashes, survival and even love and relationships. Trust me, this is the book to cozy up with this winter, just maybe not while you’re on a flight to Colorado.
