It’s Cold in Paris! – See my Winter Favorites –
After spending a winter in South Korea, where it was cold, but the sun appeared way more in the winter than it did in Bavaria, and more than it does in Paris, I was reminded this winter how much I LOVE the sun.
The vibes in Paris are truly different on days where the sun shines upon us, even when it is c o l d outside.

a vest (in the color orange)
I’ve thought about this vest since before Christmas, but haven’t bought it yet and I don’t know why. It’s not the bright orange one that some of you told me looked like a hunting vest (but bonus for me, noone hunts in Paris) but a darker orange and it’s still on my mind.
02
Aestura’s ATOBARRIER365 cream
This was one of the first products I bought when I moved to Korea and I’ve been literally obsessed ever since. I’m about to run out of what I brought with me from Korea, so I’ll have to track it down in Paris (or find an alternative, but nooo).
03
wool socks
I’ve learned that wearing warm socks means that you can wear your sneakers, even when it’s cold. And that’s a game-changer for me, because a sneaker is my favorite shoes.
Yes, they’re called sneakers.
04
a can of Perrier
This is my water of choice. In the winter I am generally more thirsty that I am when it’s warmer out (I think this is a thing) so I can easily drink 3-4 cans of Perrier a day. If you were around for the grocery drama of 2024, just know that’s the amount of Perrier we order on the regular right now.
05
the color orange
I’m so obsessed with this color, especially paired with a dark green, oh, yes! But… I don’t own anything – like a shirt, purse, vest or sweater – that is actually orange. My nails are currently orange red-ish color, so that does count for something. I’m on the lookout for ways to add orange into my outfits, so send the orange things my way.
06
Lip Mask
Winter is rough on your lips, and they are so easy to chap up. Staying hydrated helps, but also having a lip mask on hand to apply throughout the day and at night. It doesn’t have to be anything special, just something that keeps moisture locked into your lips. And if nothing else, plaster some Vaseline on your lips!
a novel
+ Audiobook
This was my first time listening to a novel, and I could not turn this book off! Kamali writes about two girls growing up in Tehran before the revolution.
I found everything about the story and the details and the possibilities of what life could have been like absolutely fascinating. (This article by BBC is also of great interest.)
+Audiobook
It’s been a minute since I’ve read (or watched) anything connected to the military, but I’m so glad this book came across my radar. With the exception of how Gorrindo refers to her husband’s unit, I highly recommend this memoir, to both those fellow military spouses and those who want a little peak into what life can look like for a military spouse. It’s honestly a touchy subject because experiences can vary greatly, but Gorrindo shares her stories and thoughts with such grace and kindness. Read it.
